{"id":4239,"date":"2021-09-09T23:42:02","date_gmt":"2021-09-10T05:42:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.canoeracing.org.nz\/?p=4239"},"modified":"2021-09-09T23:43:46","modified_gmt":"2021-09-10T05:43:46","slug":"crnz-national-performance-assessment-october-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uptest.co.nz\/canoeracing\/crnz-national-performance-assessment-october-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"CRNZ National Performance Assessment &#8211; October 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Canoe Racing NZ is planning on running the National Performance Assessment (NPA) on the 7<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and 8<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0October 2021 at the HPTC in Karapiro.<\/strong>\u00a0 The assessment will comprise a number of on-water and off-water assessments.<\/p>\n<p><em>Please note: date may change and is subject to being able to meet any covid-19 restrictions.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><br \/>\nPurpose<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the National Performance Assessment is to;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide a learning opportunity for athletes and coaches<\/li>\n<li>Benchmark athletes across the performance pathway<\/li>\n<li>Analyse and track athletes\u2019 progress over time<\/li>\n<li>Gather data to help inform selection for HP squads<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Testing<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The assessment comprises of a number of on-water and off-water assessments.\u00a0As a guide testing includes the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>60s max reps bench pull<\/li>\n<li>2km TT (timed using Rovers)<\/li>\n<li>300m Test (timed using Rovers)<\/li>\n<li>30sec wingate erg test<\/li>\n<li>1rm max bench press and pull<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Further Info and Applications<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The NPA is an important part of the CRNZ performance program and is open to CRNZ Paddle ID, Performance Development, High Performance program athletes and to athletes who are invited by CRNZ based on an application process.<\/p>\n<p>Following the application process athletes will be invited based on, previous results, performance level\u00a0and\u00a0demand\/capacity.<\/p>\n<p>If you are outside of the CRNZ performance pathway programs (PID\/PD\/HP) and are tracking towards HP program inclusion, could you please complete the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=KPxTQn-yAEu9drT3GX14CkItS64Hs05Aqx1ZHHsgpbRUMFVGQzFHMzNTWVhYTEhKVElTMlpMRlJUNC4u\">attached link\u00a0<\/a> by September 17<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a02021. \u00a0It is important to note the CRNZ squad policies can be found on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uptest.co.nz\/canoeracing\/performance\/selection\/\">CRNZ website.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Further information regarding the NPA will be sent direct to athletes who are eligible in their invitation letter.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any questions please contact Aaron Osborne \u00a0<a href=\"mailto:aaron.osborne@canoeracing.org.nz\">aaron.osborne@canoeracing.org.nz<\/a> or Polly Powrie <a href=\"mailto:polly.powrie@canoeracing.org.nz\">polly.powrie@canoeracing.org.nz<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Canoe Racing NZ is planning on running the National Performance Assessment (NPA) on the 7th\u00a0and 8th\u00a0October 2021 at the HPTC in Karapiro.\u00a0 The assessment will comprise a number of on-water and off-water assessments.
