{"id":4242,"date":"2021-09-17T23:41:50","date_gmt":"2021-09-18T05:41:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.canoeracing.org.nz\/?p=4242"},"modified":"2021-09-19T19:13:15","modified_gmt":"2021-09-20T01:13:15","slug":"kahawai-year-7-8-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uptest.co.nz\/canoeracing\/kahawai-year-7-8-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"New Event- Kahawai Year 7&#038;8 Challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Following the recent cancellation of the 2021 Anchor AIMs Games Canoe Sprint Event, CRNZ are delighted to be putting on a similar competition for year 7 &amp; 8 paddlers in Novembe<\/strong>r.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><span class=\"color_26\">The 2021 Kahawai Year 7 and 8 Challenge\u2013 designed to develop the next generation of paddlers \u2013 will be held on Saturday 6th November at Lake Okareka, Rotorua.<br \/>\nThis event is open to all paddlers of intermediate school age (year 7 and 8), and is suitable for paddlers of all levels and from any paddling discipline (Sprint, surf, ocean, slalom or multisport).<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"color_26\">All boats and equipment will be provided by organisers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Please note: you do not need to have been entered in the Aims Games event to take part in this event. Open to any Y7\/8 who is keen.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The event format will be the Kahawai Paddler X, where heats of 6 paddlers race from a start line, around one or more buoys and back to a finish line adjacent to the start.
