Day Four saw Dame Lisa Carrington pick up a tenth open World Championship title in Canada overnight.<\/p>\n

Having not attended the World Championships last year, Lisa Carrington won the womens K1 500m final, her 3rd world championship title in this event.<\/span><\/p>\n

This most recent win now sits aside wins in 2015 and 2019, runner-up finishes in 2017 and 2018 as well as two Olympic Gold medals and a bronze at this distance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Carrington got out of the starting gate quickly as expected and continued to extend her lead down the course, where there was a slight headwind, finishing in 1.58.69, ahead of Croatia\u2019s Anamaria Govorcinovic and <\/span>Germany\u2019s Jule Hake.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier in the day, Carrington and her young K4 crew finished 5th in their 500m final, agonisingly close to the podium.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While Poland were clear ahead to take the win, a mere 0.6 seconds separated 2nd-5th placing.<\/span><\/p>\n

In other events, Peter Cowan started the day with 8th in his Men’s VL3 A-Finaland the K4 men were 8th in the 500m B-Final.<\/span><\/p>\n

To round out the penultimate day of racing, Ashton Reiser was third in his K1 500m C-Final and James Munro placed 9th in the K1 1000m B-Final.<\/span><\/p>\n
